The challenge
Inbound statement processing ran on disconnected Python scripts, a SQL database and spreadsheets, with no unified view across 8 counterparties and around 50 contracts. Issues were tracked in spreadsheets and resolved by email, so the process could not be audited or scaled, and the organisation could not yet show Foundry as an operational platform.
As built
What we built
- A fully operational ingestion and processing pipeline on Foundry, standardising premiums, claims payments and snapshots across every counterparty
- A three-tier data quality control framework, from ingestion to processing to the business figures
- Role-based dashboards for technical accounting, valuation and non-technical claims users
In production
The impact
- Foundry proven as an operational platform: 100% of the statements processed end to end with zero silent failures, a full audit trail and immutable source tables feeding validated outputs
- End-to-end visibility and control: real-time ingestion monitoring, data quality dashboards and reconciliation workflows at every level
- The local data engineer self-sufficient on Foundry by the close of the project
